Custom game development
Web, mobile and desktop games built in Defold from prototype to release, including gameplay, UI, audio and store builds.
Codeward is a game development studio in Kraków, Poland, built around the Defold engine. Studios, publishers and brands hire us to build games, port existing ones and keep them running after launch.
You work directly with the developers who write the code. The studio is led by Paweł Jarosz, Community & Content Manager at the Defold Foundation.

We move games from Unity, Godot, Construct and other engines to Defold and prepare them for the browser as HTML5. Read our Unity to Defold porting guide.
Small, fast HTML5 playable ads for mobile games, built for the size limits and rules of the major ad networks. More in our playable ads guide.
C++ and platform code for Android, iOS and the web when your game needs an SDK or a device feature that has no ready Defold extension.
Shorter load times and smaller builds with texture compression, atlas work, deferred loading and profiling on real phones. See our HTML5 optimization guide.
Ads, rewards, cloud saves and leaderboards for Poki, CrazyGames, Yandex Games and other web portals, set up with their QA requirements in mind.
Engine and SDK upgrades, store policy changes, bug fixes and new content for games that are already live.
One Defold developer or a small team joins your production, works in your tools and follows your process.
Defold has its own patterns: message passing, collections, factories and a Lua codebase. A developer who uses them every day writes less code and avoids the memory and build size problems that are expensive to fix late in a project.
Our team includes experienced Unity developers with advanced C# knowledge. When we port a game, we read the original project the way its authors would, so gameplay rules, timings and edge cases stay as they were. We have ported titles from well-known mobile game brands, originally built in Unity, to Defold for the web.
